Biography

Isidore di Miceli is born around 1741 in Corleone, according to his reported age at death, and making him only seventeen when his first child is born. He is the son of Nicolo' and Francesca di Miceli. His mother's surname is not yet known.

Isidore marries Lucia Gagliano, daughter of Domenico Gagliano and the late Caterina, on 13 September 1760 in Corleone.[1]

Isidore and Lucia have at least six children: Vincenza (c. 1761), Salvatrice (c. 1768), Bernardo (c. 1772), Isidore (c. 1772), Antonino (1775), and Francesca (1779).

I estimate Vincenza is born the year after her parents marry, making her seventeen at marriage.

I estimate Salvatrice is 20 years old (b. 1768) when she marries.

Bernardo is born around 1772, based on his reported age at death.

Isidore is also born around 1772, based on his reported age at death.

Antonino is born 16 December 1775 and baptized the next day. His godparents are Pietro and Angela Marino, a married couple.[2]

Vincenza marries Rosario Palazzo on 22 November 1778. This record calls her mother Lucia Gagliano.

Francesca is born 4 July 1779 and baptized the next day, named after her paternal grandmother. Her godparents are Maestro Salvatore and Maria Graviano, a married couple.[3]

Salvatrice marries Ciro Mancuso on 6 April 1788. This record calls her mother Lucia Quaglino.

Francesca marries Luca Papania on 14 October 1795. Her parents are both still living.[4]

Death of Isidore

Isidore, the elder, dies at age 60 (b. 1741) on 26 October 1801. Lucia survives him.

Bernardo dies, unmarried, at age 30 (b. 1772) on 31 March 1802.

Isidore, the younger, dies at age 40 (b. 1772) on 12 November 1812. His wife, Giuseppa di Gregorio, survives him.

Lucia dies at age 75 (b. 1739) on 5 February 1814.
